Canoeing/Kayaking

An educational yet fun experience on one of the UK’s favourite lakes

  • The Lake District’s third largest lake, Derwent Water features five islands, is three miles long, just over a mile wide and 72 feet deep watched over by the fells of Derwent and Castlerigg.
  • You will be based at a lake-side site which includes changing rooms and toilets. You will be introduced progressively to all the necessary techniques needed to move your canoe or kayak on a safe and exciting journey around the lake. With lots of games to play along the way you will enhance your skills, discover ancient burial sites and have opportunities to study local wildlife and history.
  • Available for beginners and the more experienced
  • Available over half, full days or more
  • Specialist equipment is, of course, provided.
