Various full day adventures give you access to the incredible underground world beneath the Yorkshire Dales (including Alum Pot and the Long Churn cave system) . Some of the reasons for caving with Glaramara:
- the guidance of highly experienced professionals who have extensive local knowledge. Graham Derbyshire, our Activities Manager, is a member of the Association of Caving Instructors.
- an introduction to the many beautiful features of limestone cave and karst scenery, identifying stalactites and stalagmites, curtains, straws, flowstone and perhaps some cave dwelling creatures
- be taught how to move safely and surely through water-worn passages, streams and pools
- test your limits; optional routes include squeezes, crawls, potholes, slides and swims
- as you would expect, all specialist clothing and equipment as well as transport is provided
Depending upon experience, you can have the option of Horizontal Systems/Vertical Systems – Ladder/Vertical Systems – SRT.
