Orienteering is a fun and competitive way to learn one of life’s great lessons, how to navigate. You’ll Learn how to find your way around using a map and compass. When the clock starts ticking, the competition starts. Orienteering is a frantic and fun test of mind and body.
Our experienced instructor team never get lost, ever (Honest) This makes them the perfect mentors for you as they pass on their skills and experience to help you orientate yourselves with your surroundings. Begin by finding your way around the Glaramara centre grounds, practicing and picking up techniques which will help you once released to the more challenging surrounding woodland terrain.

What to expect on the day
09.15Pick up from your accommodation or meet at the Glaramara Activity hub.
09.30You will be kitted out with the necessary equipment for the weather conditions.
09.45Familiarisation with maps and map orientation techniques.
10.00Begin in our walled grounds doing our “star” orienteering course.
10.30Move into a technically more challenging woodland area. Focus is more on relating the map to the ground.
12.30Head back to Glaramara or your accommodation.
