Who is it for?

An ideal event for for a group who wish to be challenged whether in the context of business team building or as a part of a social gathering.

Event Outline

Project Sky Launch is an exercise designed to encourage maximum involvement and participation in a mixture of outdoor activities, problem solving exercises, planning, preparation, time-management and communication skills. Participants operate in teams to complete a project culminating in the launch of a self built rocket.

Event Format
Outline details of the project are provided in an initial briefing. Thereafter teams are expected to complete the following tasks:

  • Design and construct a base platform, a launch pad and a rigging system.
  • Earn points to purchase the constituent parts of the rocket.
  • Put together a five minute marketing presentation to include a logo, a slogan and an advertising jingle.
  • Complete a major outdoor task, which may include a gorge scramble, abseil or an orienteering circuit.
  • Participate in on site problem solving and initiative exercises.
  • Write a technical operations manual for the rocket and delivery system.
  • Deliver the marketing presentation.
  • Launch the rocket.
  • Conduct an internal review on lessons learned from the exercise which may be applicable to your workplace.

Sound time management and allocation of resources will be fundamentally important to the success of the exercise. Exchange of ideas and opinions within the team will be positively encouraged, as the ultimate aim is for the team to succeed and to breed a culture of sharing information and best practice.

Summary
This fast moving challenge has been proved to offer an extremely rewarding and highly entertaining experience, allowing all participants the opportunity to demonstrate their own particular strengths and skills in a wider team scenario. The launch of the rocket provides a fitting finale to celebrate each team’s achievement!
