We continue to try to introduce carbon saving measures wherever possible.
Some of our efforts this year with immediate benefits are:

  1. The continuation of our recycling scheme and the education of visitors,
both young and old, of its benefits.
  2. Further education of our staff to understand the benefits of energy
    savings where feasible.
  3. With the aid of a loan from the Carbon Trust, the introduction of
HouseHeat technology which communicates wirelessly between the room
thermostats and automatic valve motors fitted to each radiator. This is in
place of traditional thermostatic or conventional radiator valves. In so
    doing it:
    - Reduces our energy consumption
    - Reduces our CO2 emissions and protect the environment

We aim to upgrade our heating system, showers and sanitary ware in the main house by early 2010 which will, lead to more efficient heat use and water consumption. More details to follow.
