GLARAMARA FELL RACE 2009
The annual race was run on Sunday 17 May with in excess of 50 runners from various clubs across the region. The 5 mile race started from and finished at the Centre and included 2100 feet of climbing.

The department, with a record number of undergraduates, returned for their annual visit and were blessed with some very favourable weather.

Our Activities Manager, Ian Boorman, recently conducted a ML Training Course over 6 days for students from various backgrounds. They included participants from John Moores University and Bury Grammar School for Girls. For an outdoor activity centre, Glaramara is blessed with having an award winning chef. As many regular visitors are aware, the quality of our meals has gone from strength to strength. Well! Where to start…..?? Once the deluge arrived on Saturday things began to look pretty bleak …. some of the worst localised wind, rain and flooding I have ever seen in the English Lakes – and that’s saying summat!! These ferocious conditions led to the inevitable cancellation of the Original Mountain Marathon and plenty of wet and stranded people.
