A 10 strong group of funseekers arrived from Gateshead this weekend hoping to celebrate Philip Oswald’s 50th birthday with some fun in the outdoors.  During a rather damp morning, our instructor, Lucy Woods, tested the groups teamwork, by participating in the Blindfold trail, tree climbing and some indoor problem solving.  The group also split into two archery teams for a wee bit of competition on the field.  The afternoon was spent at nearby Wodens Crag where everyone took part in an abseil, some enjoying so much that they went up for a second go!   Then it was off to Keswick for a meal and drinks to continue the birthday celebrations.

 We had a great day, Lucy is a very good instructor making everyone feel at ease with the activity they are doing. The activities brought out the child in us and we hope to return in the future to try different ones.
