Despite the rather changeable weather, we had a good turn-out of 44 for the race on 22 May. With a winning time close to the course record of 45 minutes, Rob Jebb of Bingley led from almost start to finish. He was followed home by Phil Davies and Martin Barron, both of Borrowdale Fell Runners. Afterwards, the runners, supporters and organisers enjoyed some refreshment and chat at Glaramara before Andrew Schofield, one of the race organisers, handed out prizes to the winners in the various categories.
Andrew said ‘he was very grateful for the continued support of Glaramara to host the race and that the race was now well established in the fell running calendar’. Ann Bland, fellow organiser, praised the efforts put in by the Glaramara staff and considered it a perfect setting for a fell race.
We look forward to their return in 2012.
