Travelling to the Lake District for our Sixth Form team building trip, all of us were completely curious as to what we should expect. We’d heard stories off previous years’ trips from the Upper Sixth, but considering we were with Mr Allmand and Mr Austen, we were all still pretty concerned as to what they would try to put us through in order to ‘get us to know ourselves’. Arriving at the Glaramara accommodation, which I might add we all loved, we were instantly set team building tasks, these being Tree Climbing, the Spider’s Web, Orienteering, or Log Balancing. On the morning of our second day we all went on a hike in different groups. We were all able to talk and get to know people that perhaps we hadn’t really known before. In the afternoon all of us made it across a 70 meter deep gorge on a Zip-Wire, again with several screams and amusing arm and leg actions. The evenings were occupied with dinner, talks from Mr Allmand about University choices, learning styles as well some very funny games in which we all learnt a lot about each others previous exploits.  On our last day the Lower Sixth were separated into different smaller groups and sent orienteering. The aim was to collect as many points as possible within the hour. This tested our strengths and weaknesses within our groups and our ability to adapt and work to our strengths as well as possible.  Coming home the common phrase, was ‘please can we go back’ and I think that this shows just how much fun we had and how much we appreciated our trip. If you need any people to help on the trip next year you won’t have to ask twice!” Emily Dyer L6 (student) “All too soon it was time to go home. Glaramara is the best place to be in the world and I give it 101 out of 100. If you are still to go, you will think the same” Becky Cooke J6 (student)
