Go Away and Learn Summer Camps
For a number of years, Glaramara has worked closely with Go Away and Learn (GOAL) in facilitating its charitable purposes of supporting young people in the advancement of their education. As described on its website, www.goawayandlearn.org.uk, the organisation helps develop education of young people internationally, irrespective of culture, race or religion, enabling them to participate in educational travel in the UK and abroad.
GOAL also provides training opportunities for young people and professionals to gain knowledge in leadership skills, outdoor education qualifications and how to organise international visits and exchanges. The Glaramara team discuss at length the needs of GOAL in order to help create and implement event programmes to suit the particular projects concerned.
The following projects have regularly taken place at Glaramara with positive feedback from participants from all over the world.

Fit & Green
Fit and Green is an ongoing project developing the green message alongside sport. It involves participants from Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and the UK in using the environment to promote health. The project allows young people to share experiences and share values regarding the environment. Young people from each country share problems faced in their domestic countries and find out about problems in others countries. Activities and practical projects are the main focus with always being “Fit and Green” at the forefront.

UK & India Exchange
Starting in 2000 the international Award in these two countries exchange biannually for a joint expedition in either the Himalayas or English Lake District. Young award members and team leaders meet, plan and enjoy the delights of each others culture, country and company in this “opportunity of a lifetime”.

International Summer Camp
The annual event sees eight or nine invited countries gathered together for a programme of events both physical and social in multinational groups. Countries across Europe form Germany to Italy, Gozo to Ireland, Netherlands to Spain are all regular attendees at this multinational exchange. Friendship, networking and sustainable partners are the driving objectives of this event.

Right First Time
Right First Time brings together young professionals interested in organising events and other activities at home and internationally. Participants from several countries share experiences and expertise in planning and carrying out activities. Participants have developed the skills required to successfully achieve high standards and frameworks of safety and have demonstrated their willingness and desire to broaden not only their own horizons but those of others. The course uses a hands on approach to learning and the participants have demonstrated their sense of creativity and fun whilst maintaining a professional approach
