The Institute For Study Abroad
Since 2002 Glaramara has hosted students from the United States as part of their study abroad programmes in the UK.
The Institute for Study Abroad, affiliated to Butler University (IFSA-Butler), is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988 at Butler University in Indianapolis. Its primary goal is to provide quality study abroad opportunities, plus academic and personal support services, for qualified North American undergraduates seeking to earn academic credit through study abroad. It is one of the largest organisations in the study abroad field.
Its London based UK arm (www.ifsabutler.co.uk) provides a wide range of services that are structured to enable students, based at UK educational institutions, to maximise their experiences of living abroad. The services begin with all of the pre-departure advice, mailings and counselling provided by the Indianapolis office. They continue with the provision of an orientation in London and an optional family stay, a series of day-trips to famous sites in England, an Adventure Weekend (to Glaramara) or a London Weekend and various meals and events. Throughout the semester the London office also provides ongoing academic advice and guidance.
Glaramara are grateful to IFSA-Butler for their continued support and hope that our productive relationship will carry on in the years to come.
Testimonial
“David [the Managing Director] runs a wonderful Activity Centre. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. They are always there to support our Student Group. The activities are run with precision and such professionalism. The service provided is 1st class and nothing is of too much trouble. I have been working with David for the past 6 or 7 years now and will continue to do so for the forseeeable future mainly because I trust the service provided. I am a Director of a Study Abroad programme based here in London and I need to make sure that our students (aged around 20 years) are in safe and professional care during their weekend event. Glaramara meets all those requirements.”
