The position of Glaramara at the head of the beautiful BorrowdaleValley is particularly suited for the provision of a large variety of active outdoor pursuits in a superb local setting. In addition, evening sporting and group activities take place within the safe environment of our fabulous five acre site. 'The Glaramara Centre Experience' offers ideal opportunities for young people and students to come into close contact with the great outdoors, participate in adventurous and exciting activities, gain an appreciation for the environment, develop socially, intellectually and physically and make new friends.
Our Outdoor Programmes are ideally suited to young people and students, providing participants with challenge, fun and tasks specifically designed to develop confidence, maturity, independence and self esteem. Our team of highly qualified and experienced instructors are trained to encourage teamwork and communication, help to overcome any problems and build upon on young people's strengths and interests. This is an exciting and positive approach to learning, development and achievement.
For school groups, most aspects of our courses have clear links to many areas of the National Curriculum and it is usual for individual schools to negotiate details of their programmes according to their requirements.
See our National Curriculum page.
For college and university groups programmes can be tailored to particular course requirements. The BorrowdaleValley is an ideal location for field study groups.
The Centre is fully licensed in line with the extensive criteria laid down by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.
Special rates may be available for groups under 18 years of age with free adult/staff places.
Exclusive use of the Centre and facilities is available for school groups and can be arranged for college/university groups.
