Since 2004 University College Birmingham have used Glaramara as an outdoor learning Centre for its Undergraduate Honours Degree and Foundation Degree in Adventure Tourism Management
Glaramara works closely with the University to create unique programmes designed to develop the skills and knowledge required for a career in adventure based tour operations and outdoor activities, as well as providing a range of transferable management skills. The course takes a multi-disciplinary approach encompassing social sciences and business subjects. The programmes are underpinned by a strong philosophy of experiential learning. A range of residential visits is provided and final year BA(Hons) students undertake a 25 day expedition, which they have planned themselves. There are many opportunities to build personal and coaching awards from National Governing Bodies in a range of activities.
