Rock Climbing

The Lake District is home to some of the world’s best rock climbs, including the first ever recorded climb in England, Napes Needle, ascended by W. P. Haskett Smith on June 30th 1886. The craggy rock outcrops of Borrowdale have long been recognised as superb venues for the introduction and development of rock climbing skills. Glaramara’s excellent location at the head of Borrowdale also means that we have easy access to many other classic Lakeland crags and climbs.
