St Herberts Primary School – May 2011 – ‘I am writing to say thank you for letting us have a wonderful afternoon. My favourite activity was the blindfold trail because it felt like an adventure. The tyres flet like mini caves and the rocks felt like huge bumps. I felt most proud of letting go of the tree and swinging through the branches because I was scared initially. I was a good team member because I encouraged my friends on the activities. I really hope I can come again’ - Year 4 pupil
Wirral Metro Walkers – April 2011 – ‘thank you to all at Glaramara for making our weekend so special. The food is equal to any first class hotel and you even arranged good weather! We will be back again to witness the next stage of development’

The instructors at the raft building and via ferrata made the day for us. All the girls really enjoyed themselves and the bride-to-be was so happy.

“Firstly we would like to say thanks to all your Staff & Instructors for making our 2 days at Glaramara a enjoyable & memorable time for all our students & staff. The students are still talking about it now. Our residential fitted in perfectly with the ASDAN course Wider Key Skills. At Canon Slade we do Bronze Award in Year 8, Silver/Short Courses in Year 9, Wider Key Skills in Year 10 and CoPe in Year 11. This leads in Year 10 to the equivalent of 3 GCSE’s at A-C and in Year 11 a Level 2/GCSE Grade B award”
Eamonn Kavanagh, Group organiser, Vimto Soft Drinks:
“What more can I say, we had a fantastic time, from start to finish the whole 2 days went like clockwork. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for all your help making this a particularly rewarding conference. In particular I like to thank Ian, who was with us throughout the 2 day event and ensured that everything and everyone was looked after, Lucy, who showed no fear and had tremendous time & patience with the team as we conquered our fears on the “Dizzy heights” abseiling… and of course, Jonny, who helped us all as we scrambled down the gorge… there are certainly lots of aching bodies this morning. We pushed a few boundaries and celebrated our success in way that certainly came through as one team which was always the intention, so once again thanks for all your help.”
Stuart Andrews, Leader & Organiser, Bunbury Scouts:
“Our scout troop enjoyed a stunning venue at Glaramara, set in the most dramatic landscape imaginable. We enjoyed both on-site and offsite activities, and the quality of the instructors and support staff was superb, with everyone being personable, efficient and easy to deal with. The instructors themselves handled our very lively bunch of scouts with great composure and expertise, and the boys took away both fabulous memories and numerous positive lessons learned about the values of working together in a team”
2009 Charity Trek (www.charitytrek.co.uk) participant:
“Hi, Having stayed over at Glaramara, I just wanted to say thank you for making my stay very enjoyable. Accommodation was comfortable, food was excellent. Enjoyed chatting to the lady from New Zealand. Can’t remember her name… A BIG thank you to Tom, for carrying my rucksack and being a great help on Saturday during my trying descent from Scafell (knee joints healing up!) and Lucy. Hope to come over again before long for a more relaxing time … but I’d love to learn to ride a bike and do some cycling up there!

“On behalf of the members of the Derbyshire Pennine Club, I wish to thank you and all of your staff for making our AGM & Annual dinner weekend such a success. I had universal praise from both members for both the quality of food and helpfulness of your staff.”
Peter Hopkinson, Head of Arnold Junior School
“Central to the Arnold Junior School ethos is opportunity. Glaramara provides a totally unique opportunity for our children to face the combined challenge of outdoor activities and staying away from home. Dave and his team make the whole experience enjoyable and rewarding and as a Head I know that the children and staff are in very safe and capable hands. Glaramara is an outstanding centre and I would not consider taking our children anywhere else.“

“First time and certainly not the last. Although I struggled with some of it I enjoyed it and am glad that I did it. Great accommodation – lack of TV meant people talked to each other! Polly and Diana were very helpful and supportive. Fantastic for single women who just want a holiday.” Jean
“Fantastic weather and company, great food and amazing scenery. Loved it! Great accommodation – particularly enjoyed the evening meal. Excellent guides. I really enjoyed walking with Yvonne. This was my second holiday with WalkingWomen and I enjoyed it even more than the first one and will definitely do another.” Karen
“Wonderful! Beautiful weather, good company, well organised, very enjoyable. Very clean and tidy rooms with wonderfully hot showers! Lots of walks right on our doorstep. We took regular stops and didn’t go too fast at any point. Our guides pointed out features of interest and was very knowledgeable.” Kate
“Hi Diana, many thanks for a super few days at the Glaramara this week. The centre was great, food lovely, the rooms perfectly comfortable, baths too short but showers good, and I would consider absolutely returning there as it is very good value for money! As for the walking side – they were a lovely group of ladies – I was happy with the walk classification and felt quite comfortable with the choice that I made to do the higher level, despite being an Essex girl and not used to going UP!! Or down come to that! The groups sizes were good and it was nice to mix and speak to different people during each day. Yvonne was an excellent guide, also I enjoyed the day with Polly too. In fact I cannot offer any constructive comments about how you could improve things as catching Christine’s germs was completely out of your control, it was all just lovely. Mind you the weather didn’t half help!!! Once again thanks for a very welcome break – I would recommend you to everyone, well every woman!” Allison
Richard & Annelise Dyke – Wedding Anniversary Celebrations – Summer 2010
“We couldn’t have picked a better venue for our Ruby Wedding celebrations than Glaramara. From the initial enquiry to the final account everything went along in such a relaxed but efficient manner that it was a pleasure, not only to spend our special weekend in the most beautiful part of Britain but also to enjoy fun activities, great food and excellent hospitality. Well done and thank you to all concerned.
