Glaramara is
- open all year round on a full board, half board or bed and breakfast basis.
- Accommodation is in a choice of single or twin rooms.
- Facilities include a residents bar, comfortable lounges with log fires and a drying room. Our small shop sells everyday useful items as well as Glaramara Souvenirs.
- All our food is home made and freshly prepared and we can cater for all dietary requirements.
Group Accommodation
Glaramara is an ideal venue for groups including walking clubs, social clubs, large family gatherings and more. We can accommodate up to 60 people in a mixture of twin and single rooms. Special group rates are available and the centre can be booked on an exclusive basis. See our venue hire page for more information on hiring the entire Centre. School and college groups will be guaranteed sole use of the centre.

WalkingWomen arranges women’s walking holidays of all different shapes and sizes in many parts of the UK and abroad.
Whether you prefer gentle walks or adventure, creature comforts or economy, there’s variety here for most tastes and levels of fitness!
WalkingWomen is about making wonderful walks more accessible – including the Lake District. It’s about un-pressured walking in beautiful scenery, or challenge and adventure if that’s what you want. It’s about attractive and affordable places to stay to suit a range of tastes. And most of all, it’s about the fun and stimulation of walking with a group of other women!
Coming on your own?
Most women come on their own. The walking group is small and friendly, with a trained guide to show you wonderful walks you might otherwise miss. The age range is wide and all women are welcome!
