A delightful stroll takes you through Seatoller and on to the path to the rear of the hotel. Numerous paths allow for various routes along the side of High Doat and through Johnny Wood. Some interesting local history and ancient natural habitat is visible during the walk before descending to the youth hostel. The circular walk is concluded by walking along the roadside or across the fields to the hotel. Further and slightly more strenuous than it appears, this is a good option if you are short of time or you are recovering from a longer walks in previous days.
Sitting out on the terrace with a beer afterwards was a welcome reward.
